Mary Lou was born July 30, 1940 in Rochester, NY to her parents Frances & Canio Masi. Her brother, Ken, joined the family two years later. Mary Lou graduated from Nazareth Academy in 1958 and Nazareth College in 1962. Her education was completed with graduation from Boston University with her Masters Degree in 1967. Mary Lou worked at WROC and then as a teacher within the City of Rochester School District. She also shared her talents with the Greece Continuing Education and the Media Play Book Department.
Mary Lou met who would become the love of her life, Bill Grason on a blind date. The two were eventually married at Holy Apostles Church.
The center of Mary Lou’s life was her family. She loved to travel. The only thing she enjoyed more than travelling was when she traveled with her family. Mary Lou had a wonderful time on her trip with her family to Disneyland and Hawaii for her granddaughter Scarlett’s birthday. One of her favorite trips was a European cruise with her son Ken.
She enjoyed reading, bible study, walks in the mall and visiting with friends, especially her Nazareth Breakfast Group and coffee with friends at Panera Bread.
Favorite TV shows included NCIS, Amazing Race, Survivor and Rizzoli & Isles. Some of her favorite books included those authored by Janet Evanovich, Iris Johansen & Johanne Fluke.
Mary Lou is predeceased by her parents, Frances & Canio Masi.
She is survived by her husband, William Grason Jr.; children, Valerie Grason & Ken (Tracy) Grason; brother, Ken Masi; beloved granddaughter, Scarlett Grason; several nieces, nephews, cousins & dear friends.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM on Tuesday at Holy Apostles Church, 7 Austin St. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
