She attended Mississippi State College for Women and retired from BellSouth after thirty years of service. She was married to Tony Brock for thirteen years.
Jan acquired a love of growing flowers from her father, becoming particularly fond of day lilies, which she often hybridized herself. She also loved to travel, enjoying trips to such places as the mountains, beaches, New York City and Disney World.
Although battling cancer for several years, Jan remained a child a heart. She touched the lives of many through her compassion, kind nature and generous spirit.
Jan was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Raymond.
Jan is survived by her father, the Reverend Sam Mason; her brother, Sam; sister-in-law, Susan, their two children, Bryan and Anna Mason; and her loving friend and caregiver, Donna Clower.
