Mary "Pat" Mason Ballard, 74, of Clinton, passed away Sunday October 2, 2011.

She was born Sept. 29, 1937 in Marshall, TX to William C. Mason and Mary Louise Mason and moved to the Jackson area as a child.

A graduate of Mississippi College, Mary retired after 35 years of teaching piano to hundreds of students and was a published composer of numerous Christian choral and instrumental pieces of music. Known for her generous nature, Mary will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert F. Ballard Jr.

Survivors include daughter, Robin, sons, Sean and David, and sisters, Anne, Kathy, Susan, and Melanie. Mary had 3 grand children, Tori, Elliot, and Cameron.

Funeral services will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton at 11:00 AM Wednesday October 5, 2011. Visitation will be between the hours of 5 and 7 PM Tuesday and after 10 AM Wednesday. Interment will follow the service in Lakewood Cemetery. Online guestbook www.wrightferguson.com.
