Mr. Mason was a native of Hinds County and a lifelong resident of Bolton. He was a member of Beulah Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Mason was a compassionate, kindhearted man. He was a loving father, a proud grandfather and a great-grandfather and a supportive friend. Mr. Mason knew the value of hard work. He worked up until the age of 89. His most fulfilling job was working at Central Hinds Academy directing traffic. Seeing that the children make it safely to and from school brought joy to his heart. He is preceded in death by his wife Emily Mason, the love of his life and wife of 63 years and sons David Mason and Jimmy Mason.
Mr. Mason is survived by his sons Robert Mason and wife Earline, Dennis Mason and wife Karen, Tommy Mason and wife Tere; daughters Kathy Maulden and husband Bobby, Emily Mason Nowell, he is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Kelly Mason, Chip Mason, Clay Mason, Matthew Mason, Adam Mason, Hollice Maulden and D.W. Keese.
