MARGARET M. MASON WASHINGTON DONAHUE, 87, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of SPRING LAKE HEIGHTS, Bloomfield and Newark, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, at her home. Margaret was born, raised and educated in Pennsylvania. She moved to New Jersey after graduating from Kingston High School, Class of 1939. She was an administrative assistant at General Electric, Bloomfield for 32 years. She was an active former parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church, Newark, St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake, and St. Elizabeth Church of Avon. She was a member of the retiree club of General Electric, AARP, Catholic Daughters-Court of St. Elizabeth 1486, Avon, supporter of Notre Dame, avid reader, traveler and Bingo enthusiast. She relocated to Las Vegas in 2003.
She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Ellen McCarthy Mason; her sisters, Helen Park and Ann Ryan; a brother-in-law, Jack Park; and her beloved husbands, Barney Washington who died in 1967, and John L. "Jack" Donahue Sr., who died in 1992. She is survived by her son, John L. "Jack" Donahue Jr.; a granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Dan Ryan; and her nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins, and many friends.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Church, Avon. Entombment will be in St. Catharine Cemetery. Arrangements are by McDonough Funeral Home, Manasquan.
