Ella E. Helterline
BUTTE – Interment services for former Paradise resident, Ella E. Helterline, 85, of Butte, were conducted Monday at Plains Cemetery with the Rev. Fr. Cyril Hunkler officiating. Liturgy of the Resurrection was conducted Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Butte.
Mrs. Helterline died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1993, in a Butte nursing home.
She was born in Missoula June 16, 1908, to Fred and Janet McKay Mass. She was raised and educated at Paradise.
She and Charles Helterline of Plains were married in Missoula in 1928. He preceded her in death in 1958.
The Helterlines moved to Butte in 1944, where Mrs. Helterline was active in square dancing, gardening, bridge clubs, church groups and the Silver Bow Association of the Blind.
Survivors include a daughter, Lenore Helterline, Chicago, Ill.; a son, Rodney Helterline, Butte; and a niece, Janel Dery, Huntsville, Ala.
Memorials in memory of Mrs. Helterline were suggested to the St. John's organ and Sanctuary Fund, 1500 Majors, Butte MT 59701.
Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home of Butte was in charge of arrangements.
