Lynn was born March 14, 1962, in Sioux Falls, S.D., the daughter of Neal J. and Marilyn M. Even Masters. She married William “Bill” B. Bentley on July 21, 1984, in Humboldt, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1994, her grandparents and a nephew.
Lynn was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pawnee. She lived briefly in Oklahoma, Des Moines, Iowa and Decatur, Ill., moving to Pawnee in 1993. She formerly was employed by Travelers Insurance Co. and Bank One. She was an animal lover, especially her dog and cats and was a fan of University of Oklahoma (OU) football. Lynn also was a member of the Central Illinois Emmaus. She loved doing crafts and baking cakes, sitting by the pool or a beach and traveling. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Lynn was an active member of the Pawnee community, serving on several boards and committees, including the Pawnee School Board, Pawnee Parent Teacher Organization and the Youth and Government Committee. Lynn also served on the Pawnee Zoning Board and the Pawnee Prairie Days Committee. She was a Pawnee EMT.
Lynn is survived by her husband, Bill; one son, Brett W. Bentley; one daughter, Lacie M. Bentley; her mother, Marilyn; one brother, James N. Masters; one sister, Susan M. (husband, Mike) Shumaker and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lynn’s family will meet friends from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Pawnee United Methodist Church, 402 Sixth St., in Pawnee. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 31, at 10 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Charles Kurfman and the Rev. R. Dean Probst officiating. Burial will be at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee.
