Wife of Rev. Abraham Hamilton Goodpasture (1820-1895). They had at least nine children: Newton, Francis Orlando, Susan J., James M., Lucy L., Martha E., Malinda, Arthur D., and Ellen A.
They also may have had a tenth child, Leona.
Abraham was born in Overton County, Tennessee. All of Abe and Mary's children were born in Tennessee. Census reports show the family residing in Overton Co., TN in 1860, then in Hart County, Kentucky in 1870. By 1880 the family had migrated to Logan County, Illinois where Abe had family. Their son Francis Orlando appears to have been the only family member who remained in Hart County. In Tennessee and Kentucky Abe's occupation was listed as "blacksmith". In Illinois his occupation was "minister of the gospel." It seems that son Newton died at an early age. He is not listed with the family in the 1860 census when he would have been about 12 years old.
