Mildred was born in Salinas on Feb. 6, 1917 to Manuel & Iva Mathias and lived in the Corral De Tierra area, with her sister and brohters, Dorothy, Robert, Elton "Buster" and Donald. In 1929 they moved to the Doud Ranch southwest of King City.
Mildred graduated from King City High School in 1936 and worked in the Soledad area. She met Joe Alves and was married on March 26, 1940. They lived in the Gonzales area for a short time then moved to the Alves Ranch on Metz road. They were married for 65 years.
Mildred was preceded in death by her sister and brothers, and by her husband, Joe Alves in 2005.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Rodrigues of Petaluma; sons, Robert (Diana) Alves of Metz road, and John (Elvira) Alves of Greenfield; grandchildren, Mike Rodrigues, Sloan Rawhoof, Shaen Nimmo, Stephanie (Alves) Kirk, Cindy Alves, Lori Alves, Joe Alves, Roselyn (Alves) Anthony; step-grandchildren, Kelly Green, Tricia Martinus, Stacy Smith, Jennifer Acosta, Teresa Rodriguez and Andrea Rodriguez; 23 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
She was also active in the Silver Kings & Queens.
