GLEN ROCK Gladys G. "Gerrie" Lewis, 84, passed away peacefully at her home on April 19, 2015. She was the loving wife of Doug Lewis for 67 years. A memorial service will be held at the Shrewsbury Assembly of God, 234 N. Main St., Shrewsbury, on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 1 p.m. J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, New Freedom, is in charge of the arrangements. Gerrie was born on June 30, 1930 in Baltimore, the daughter of the late Norman R. and Elizabeth L. (Mooney) Mathias. Gerrie was the former postmaster at the Freeland, Md. office. She was an animal lover and especially loved her horses and Scottish Terriers. She is survived by daughters, Terrie Wood and husband, Donald, Collette Anderson; son, Randy Lewis; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters; and one brother. She ws preceded in death by a sister and brother. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of York County, 3159 Susquehanna Trail, North, York, PA 17406 or Animal Rescue, Inc., PO Box 36, Maryland Line, MD 21105.
