Stella worked at Hanford for Department of Energy, retiring in 1981 and then at Rockwell for several years. She was a very active volunteer in Beta Sigma Phi, where she served as President of the organization and was selected Woman of the Year on several occasions. She was a member of NARFE, loved gardening and playing pinochle but mostly loved being a mother and grandmother. She was a woman of great faith and was a member at the First Presbyterian Church of Kennewick.
She is survived by daughters, Sharon Burke and Bobbie Burke Kristinik, both of Texas, son, Dennis Burke of Kennewick and Bobbie's husband, Richard Kristinik. She had five grandchildren; Terri, Shelly, Brad, Alison, Julie and ten great-grandchildren; Brittany, Sydney, Stephen, Lauren, Jackson, Caroline, Sophia, Julia, Nicole and Riley. She was very proud of all of them. She was a good friend to many, who will miss her very much.
She was preceded in death by her mother Ethel Milliken Maxon, her father Whitford S. Maxon, her brother Don Maxon and two sisters, Mary Maxon Stein and Betty Maxon Reynolds.
Funeral services to be held Saturday, December 7, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street in Kennewick.
