THELMA D. BERKSHIRE, age 72 of Wheatland Township, Hudson, MI, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2008 at her home.
She was born on March 4, 1936 in Michigan Center, MI to Floyd W. and Dorothy L. (Carpenter) Maxon. She married Harold R. "Dick" Berkshire on March 8, 1952 in Horton, MI. He preceded her in death on December 20, 2005.
Thelma lived her early life in Michigan Center and Concord, MI area. She then lived in the Addison-Hudson area for many years. She was formerly employed at the Egg Exchange in Hudson. She then cleaned houses for many years. She was a member of the Rollin Baptist Church in Rollin. She enjoyed horse racing, gardening, reading, knitting and cooking.
Surviving are three daughters, Becky Berkshire of Hudson, Penny (Parke) Atkinson of Clayton, Peggy Biehl of Hudson, one son Dan (Kim) Berkshire of Jackson, ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three brothers, Wilson "Bill" (Carol) Maxon of Hillsdale, Ernest (Pat) Maxon of Port Orchard, Washington, Jack (Dorothy) Maxon of Vandercook Lake, MI, nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dick, one son, Richard L. Berkshire, one sister and two brothers.
