96, of Kingwood, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at Heartland of Preston County. She was born Aug. 6, 1915, in Herring, a daughter of the late Melvin and Etta Mae Molisee Mayfield. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was known for her ray rugs and beautiful quilts. She also was a foster parent for several years. She is survived by her daughter, Isabel Jenkins of Gulf Breeze, FL; three sons, Dale Metheny of Ellaville, GA. Quentin & wife Kathy Metheny of Kingwood; three half sisters, Linda Lambert and Melvaline Fugera, both of Georgia, and Maxine Beatty of Morgantown; 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Metheny, in 1996; a son in-law, Elton Jenkins; a daughter in-law, Linda Metheny; a grandson, Michael Jenkins; and a sister and brother who died in infancy. Friends will be recieved at Browning Funeral Home in Kingwood, from 4-8 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, with Pastor Derek Syruws officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
