William S. Mayfield, 41, Pryor, Oklahoma, formerly of Fort Scott, died Saturday in the Craig County Hospital at Vinita, Oklahoma.

He was born February 22, 1945, at Midland, Texas, the son of Bill Lee and Cleta NORBURY Mayfield.

He was a graduate of Fort Scott High School, Fort Scott Community College and the San Francisco Mortuary of Science School, San Francisco, California.

He was a former employee of Cheney's Memorial Chapel and at the time of his death was employed by Jim Green Mortuary at Pryor.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Cleta and Andy Streeter, 2002 S. Holbrook; two sisters, Cleta Dell'Antonia, Fort Scott, and Mary Cullor, Woodland, California; two brothers, LeRoy Mayfield, Fort Scott, and Jay Mayfleld, Nevada, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by two step-brothers, Delbert George and Jack George.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Jim Green Mortuary at Pryor, Oklahoma.

Graveside services will be a 3 p.m. Wednesday in Woods Cemetery, near Redfield, Bourbon County, Kansas.
