Blanche M Haines, 101, of Lenexa, Kansas, died Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Lakeview Village. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 16, at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS, where friends may call on her family from 10-11 A.M. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Her family requests memorial contributions to the Lakeview Village Library. Blanche was born September 14, 1912, in Miller County, MO, graduated from high school in Detroit, MI, and received her Bachelor's degree in elementary Ed. from Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg, MO. She taught a total of 42 years. Blanche last taught first grade for 24 years at Welborn Elementary School in Kansas City, KS. She was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church in KCK, and of Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village. She belonged to the KCK Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, honorary organization for women educators. Her husband, Hadley H. Haines preceded her in death in 1986. Survivors include her daughter Elaine Foley (Bill), Bonner Springs, KS, son Herbert H. Haines (Cynthia), Homer, New York, 3 grandsons, William Foley, III, Evan Haines, and Colin Haines, and great-granddaughter Emma Foley.
