Benjamin Okey Mayfield was born December 14, 1871 at Iuka, Tyler Co., W.Va., and passed away June 12, 1946 in Bloomingdale, Michigan, being at the time of his death 74 years, 5 months and 28 days of age. He was the son of John W. and Mary Beverlyn Mayfield.

On March 11, 1900 he was united in marriage with Catherine Duffy who preceded him in death on November 13, 1938. Three children were born to this union: Mrs Love Fisher of Bloomingdale, Michigan; Mrs Josie Dougherty of Antioch, OH.; and John Mayfield of Massillon, Ohio.

Mr. Mayfield came to Ohio from West Virginia nearly fifty years ago and remained there until he went to Michigan over a year ago to live with his daughter, Mrs Love Fisher, in whose home he passed away.

He was a member of the Methodist Church at Antioch and faithfully served the Sunday School as Superintendent for a number of years. He was also a member of Monroe Lodge No. 189, F.andA..M. for more than twenty-five years.

Surviving besides his children are five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, R.G. Mayfield, of Charleston, W.Va. and two sisters, Mrs. Virgie Ankrom of Sistersville, W.Va., and Mrs Sarah Wise of New Martinsville, W.Va.

and may there be no mourning at

the bar, when I put out to sea.

Funeral services were conducted from the Haudenschield Funeral Home at Antioch, with additional services at the Antioch Methodist Church on Saturday arfternoon, June 15th, at two o'clock with Rev. J.L. Baker, of Barnesville, officiating. Services were conducted by Monroe Lodge No. 189 F.&A.M. at the Antioch Cemetery where burial was made.
