Virginia Jean Mayfield Casey 12/24/1924 - 09/28/2009

After moves to Illinois and Missouri, the Mayfield's settled in Claremore, Oklahoma, where Virginia met her husband-to-be, Daniel B. Casey. After graduation from Claremore High School, while Daniel was fighting in the Pacific, Virginia worked at the local movie theatre and then as a telephone operator with the phone company. Upon his return from the service, Virginia and Daniel were married on April 3, 1945 and would remain married for over 50 years. They started a family and moved to Norman so that Daniel could attend the University of Oklahoma. After graduation the family moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma. During their children's school years, Virginia served as a home room mother and volunteered with the Brownies and Girl Scouts, as well as Midwest City Hospital. In later years, she worked with her husband in the family business, Conrad-Marr Drug Store. While those are the specifics of her life, it is the intangibles with which she made her mark on those around her. Virginia's love of her grandchildren was part of what made her truly special. Many memories include her playing the organ, cooking, singing, talking, teaching, cheering and simply being with and among her many grandchildren.
