Louise Evelyn (McAlexander) Cargill, 78, Stockton, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield. She was born March 26, 1930, in Dunnegan, the daughter of Lewis L. and Ina Minerva McAlexander.
After finishing the 11th grade at El Dorado Springs, she married Coy Edward Cargill of Stockton. Four children were born to this union.
She had a love of gardening, sewing and flowers, and loved to sit by the window at the farm and watch the birds, animals and her dog, Sam. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much, and will be missed by all.
Survivors include her four children, Jim Cargill and wife Judy of El Dorado Springs, Sherri Newman and husband Larry of Stockton, Cathy White and husband Dan of Apple Valley, Minn., and Starla Turner and husband Chuck of Nevada; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Louis McAlexander of Mississippi; a sister, Lorene Jones of California; and many friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Ina McAlexander; and her husband, Coy Edward Cargill.
Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at Brumback Funeral Home, with burial in Pankey Cemetery.
