CHELMSFORD, MA -- Judith A. (McCarthy) Dunigan RN, 73, of Chelmsford, MA, formerly of Lowell died Saturday January 11, 2014 after a long illness.
Family:
She was the wife of the late W. Brian Dunigan who died May 1, 1996.
Born in Manchester, CT, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Mary (Dwyer) McCarthy.
Judy is survived by her children Brian M. and wife Julie Dunigan of Pepperell, MA, Kathleen Dunigan of Cambridge, MA, Elizabeth Dunigan and husband Jay Gillespie of S. Boston, MA, Gregory R. Dunigan and wife Meg of Burbank, CA;
a sister, Mary Meeker of Sandwich, MA;
two grandchildren, Brilie and Shealie Dunigan of Pepperell, MA;
several nieces and nephews and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Life:
Judy was raised in Needham and graduated from Needham High School in 1958.
She graduated from Catherine Laboure School of Nursing in Boston and earned her certification as a Registered Nurse in 1961.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Lesley College in 1988.
Judy worked as the Town of Chelmsford Public Health Nurse for 23 years until her retirement in 2007.
She enjoyed her vacation home on Cape Cod and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Her favorite times were spent with her children.
