Mary E. (McCarthy) Gallagher, age 87, entered into eternal life Dec. 16, 2011. Mary was a lifelong Weymouth resident. Mrs Gallagher worked for the Weymouth Landing Post Office for many years. Mary was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Weymouth. She loved traveling, especially cruises and was an avid Cribbage player. Beloved wife of the late John J Gallagher. Devoted mother of Louise A. Gallagher of Weymouth, John J. Jr. of Cambridge, William M. and his wife Beatrice of Williamsburg, VA and Paul F. and his wife Karin Gallagher of Downingtown, PA. Loving grandmother of Will, Jon, Erin, Derek, Erika and the late Amy Gallagher. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren. Beloved sister of the late Joseph A., Francis D. and John J. McCarthy. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Clancy- Lucid Funeral Home, 100 Washington St., Weymouth Landing, Tuesday Dec. 20 at 8: 30 a.m. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully. Visiting hours Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. If desired, donations may be made in her memory to Amy Ann Gallagher Memorial Scholarship Fund, 76 Phillips St., Weymouth, MA 02188.
