She was born on January 8, 1914 in Minden City. Helen was the fifth child out of fifteen children born to the late Dr. John P. and Alma (Broadback) McCoy. Helen married Kenneth J. Bennett on November 10, 1934 in Roseville. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1992. Helen was a homemaker and she enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, and watching the Detroit Tigers. She was also a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Port Sanilac.
Helen is survived by her daughters Shirley McPherson of Sandusky, Nancy (Gary) Dean of Sandusky and Beth (Charles) Olsen of Croswell, a daughter in law Jane Bennett of Applegate. 9 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and 11 Great Great Grandchildren. A sister Mary (Ed) Swigert of Centerline, 3 brothers Dick (Bert) McCoy of Redford, Frank (Lorraine) McCoy of Marlette and Joe McCoy of Minden City. Several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Robert Bennett and a son in law Don McPherson.
Visitation will be from 1-8 on Monday at the Pomeroy Funeral Home in Carsonville. Rosary Devotions 7 p.m. Monday evening. Funeral Mass 11 a.m.Tuesday at St. Marys Church in Port Sanilac, with visiting from 10-11 at the church. Fr. Donald J. Eppenbrock will officiate. Interment will be in New St. Marys Cemetery in Carsonville.
