---Eileen Coats, 53, of 312 Crary Street, died early Thursday morning at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, where she had been a patient since Dec. 26. She has been ill for over a year.
---Mrs. Coats was born in McGuffey, Ohio, on April 23, 1925, to Pryor and Carmen Irsle (Setzer) McCoy. She married Philip Coats Sr. in Marshall on July 14, 1940, and has resided in this city most of her life.
---Mrs. Coats is survived by her husband; their children, Philip E. Coats of Marshall, Pennie E. Rider of Hastings, Mrs. Joseph (Sandra K.) Thornton of Ceresco, Mrs. Howard (Dawn R.) Ekdahl of Marshall, G. Stephen Coats of Battle Creek, Mrs. Charles (Deborah L.) Cypret of Springport, Gordon E. Coats of Marshall; 13 grandchildren; three brothers, Hurley McCoy of Marshall, Frank McCoy of Sylvania, Ohio, and Gerald McCoy of Marshall; and three sisters, Mrs. Russell (Faye) Thompson of Taylor, S.C., Mrs. Darrel (Treva) Rapp of Marshall and Mrs. Clarence (Geraldine) Howard of Marshall; and many nieces and nephews.
---Friends may call at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Bruce Thompson of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Porter Cemetery in Convis Township.

---Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home for Eileen Coats, 53, of 312 Crary Street, who died Jan. 18 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor after a lengthy illness.
---The Rev. Bruce Thompson of the United Methodist Church officiated, with Kenneth King, John Tucker, Sandy Sanders, Wayne Smith, Charles Patton and Fred Seibright serving as pallbearers. Burial was at Porter Cemetery in Convis Township.
