Edith G. McCracken Dunn, 100, of New Kensington, died peacefully at home, May 19, 2005.
Born Feb. 22, 1905, in the Logans Ferry section of Plum, she was a daughter of the late David D. and Nancy Skillen McCracken. A 1922 graduate of Parnassus High School, she graduated in 1926 from Allegheny College, Meadville.
Mrs. Dunn was a member of Logans Ferry Presbyterian Church and the Pucketos Garden Club, was a former member of the Eastern Star, and was Mother Advisor to the Rainbow Girls, all of New Kensington. She also belonged to the National Aviary Society and the AARP. An avid bridge player, she also enjoyed raising flowers and gardening.
She was the beloved mother of Nancy Moore of New Kensington and Patricia Miller of Windham, Maine; and beloved grandmother of Megan Moore of New Kensington.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, T. A. "Al" Dunn, in 1972; two brothers, David and John McCracken; and three sisters, Mary McCracken, Ruth Carlson and Mabel Wilson.
Visitation will be Sunday from 12-3 and 7-9 p.m. in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., family owned and operated, 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where services will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be her pastor, Rev. Robert J. Henry.
