Maureen E. (McGann) Barber of Naples, Florida and formerly of Bourne, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at the age of 69. Born April 18, 1942 in Taunton, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Eileen (Gallagher) McGann. An avid golfer, she was also a Registered Nurse at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth for many years before retiring in 2001 and moving to Florida. Maureen was the beloved companion of Jim Pior of Naples, FL and the mother of Shawn C. Barber of Marthas Vineyard, Dawn E. McMahon and her husband Stephen of Beverly and the late George F. Barber. She also leaves her brother, John McGann and his wife, Mary of Taunton, her sister, Phyllis Detlefs of Mystic, CT; her sister-in-law, Anne McGann, formerly of Taunton and three grandchildren, George F. Barber of Sandwich and Stephen M. and Julie E. McMahon, both of Beverly. Her brother, Francis McGann preceded her in death. Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. in Bourne. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 841 Shore Rd. in Pocasset. Burial will follow in Oakland Grove Cemetery.
