Charles "A" Canty age 29, a shipper from 5 Riverview Street, married Nellie V. McGann, age 26 from 115 School Street. He was born in Taunton, the son of Michael and Ellen (Foley) Canty. She was born in Canton, the daughter of Michael and Annie (Galligan) McGann.

Ellen died at the US Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune, NC from arteriosclerotic disease.

Residence 20 St. Mary's Square. Funeral from the Cleary Funeral Home Saturday Oct 01 at 9 a.m. A solemn high mass of requiem will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at St. Mary's Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Nellie V. (McGann) Canty, 80, wife of the late Charles E. Canty, died Tuesday night [Sep 27, 1960] at Camp Lejeune, NC. She was visiting her son, Rev. Joseph Canty who is stationed at the camp as a US Navy Chaplain. Born in Taunton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Rose (Galligan) McGann. She was a lifelong resident of Taunton. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Taunton and was active in church affairs. Besides her son, she leaves many nephews and nieces.
