Donald P. 'Stretch' McGann, age 74, of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2013.
He was a graduate of Joliet Catholic High School, Class of 1956. Don also graduated from the University of Notre Dame with the Class of 1960. He spent many years working for E. J. & E. Railroad in Joliet and retired after 32 years of service. He was an active parishioner of St. Ambrose Church, serving in many ministries of the parish.
He was the husband of Mary Ann (nee Kachelhoffer) McGann. They were married for 51 years. Don was also the loving father of Patti (John) D'Ambrose, Bridget McGann, Mike (Tami) McGann, Danny McGann, David (Linda) McGann and Katie (Kevin) Zihlman; the dear grandfather of 13 and great-grandfather of one. He is also survived by his brother, Dennis McGann.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Michael and Helen (nee Spelich) McGann.
Visitation: Monday, April 1, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church and again on Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at the church.
Service: Tuesday, April 2, 2013 with a mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Crest Hill.
Arrangements by: Tezak's Funeral Home, Joliet, Illinois.
