Barbara Ann McGovern was born on the 8th Nov 1946 in Youngstown, Mahoning, Ohio, to the parents of Robert and Alice Klassen McGovern. During her school years, she was a member of the "Spray Club", a swimming group that put on an annual Water Ballet called "Swimming Down Broadway" with routines like West Side Story and Oklahoma. She was also in her High Schools musical production of "Meet me in St Louis", playing a southern belle with all her heart. After graduation from high school, Barbara attended the Youngstown Hospital Associations School of Nursing, graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1967. In 1969, Barbara enlisted with USAF as a clinical Registered Nurse and serving her country until 1984. She was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for teaching advanced Cardiac Life Support. She was the President of the local Toastmasters Organization of Grand Forks. After 40 years as a Registered nurse Barbara retired in Stockton, CA. Barbara leaves a sister, niece and a nephew.
