Milan, MI--Elsie Massey McGovern, 94, of Milan died Sunday in the Saline Evangelical Home. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. born Feb. 5, 1903 in Crystal, she was the daughter of Frank Tallant and Nellie (Mesler) Massey. She was married on April 3, 1925 to Charles E. McGovern at her parents' home in Milan. He died Sept. 17, 1987. She was a graduate of Milan High School and Michigan Normal College. She was employed for many years as a receptionist/assistant bookkeeper for many years for Drs. Cox and Dunmire at the Milan Dental Office, retiring in 1965. She was a member of the Marble Memorial United Methodist Church and a life member of the Milan Ruth Chapter 106. Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are a son, Fayne of Milan; two daughters, Barbara Bell of Care and Mrs. Jack (Nancy) Gardiner of Waterford; a sister, Mrs. Cliff (Wilma) Keller; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son, Billy C., a brother, A. Glenn Massey; a great-grandson, Todd Southwell and a great-great-grandson, Andrew McGovern. Memorials may be made to the Saline Evangelical Home.
