Betty Jean McKinstry, age 78, of Aliceville, died June 11, 2014, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center.

Memorial Services were held on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Dogwood Chapel in Aliceville, Alabama, with Rev. Charlie Wilson officiating. A private service was held at Magnolia Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family received friends immediately following the service at the chapel.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara McKinstry and her parents, Charlie Goodson and Mable Aston Goodson.

Betty was born September 9, 1935 in Calhoun City, Mississippi. She was a member of Aliceville First Baptist Church, a member of the choir and active in the food ministry. She was a homemaker and a well known resident of the Aliceville area. Known as Meme to her grandchildren, she was much loved, and always had a smile that you knew was genuine. She will be missed by all who knew her.
