BELL (McSwain), Mona Ellen — 83, Truro, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011, in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born August 24, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary McSwain (of Bible Hill). She was a member of First Baptist Church, Truro. Mona is survived by stepchildren, Greg (Sandi), Sandra Bell; grandchildren, Charmaine, Robyn, Dillon, Dustin; great-grandchildren, McKyla, Colton, Rowan, Ivy; sisters, Stella McLeod, Mary Boomer; brothers, Edward (Ethel), Bob (Carol); several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Walter; brother, Neil; sister, Rita Wood.
The family wishes to offer a special thanks to Mona’s niece, Debbie and her husband, Foster Stewart who were steadfast in attending to Mona during her final days; also a special thanks to the nurses and staff on Purdy Lane for their care and attention - especially Larry Hoddinott whose bond with her was a great comfort.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5 from 1-2 p.m. followed immediately by the funeral service at 2 p.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., with Rev. John Tonks officiating. Interment in Old Barns Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson Society of Canada, Maritime Region.
