BELL (McSwain), Mona Ellen — 83, Truro, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011, in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born August 24, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary McSwain (of Bible Hill). She was a member of First Baptist Church, Truro. Mona is survived by stepchildren, Greg (Sandi), Sandra Bell; grandchildren, Charmaine, Ro­byn, Dillon, Dust­in; great-grand­children, McKyla, Colton, Rowan, Ivy; sisters, Stella McLeod, Mary Boomer; brothers, Edward (Ethel), Bob (Carol); several nieces and nephews.

She was prede­ceased by her husband, Walter; broth­er, Neil; sister, Rita Wood.

The family wishes to offer a special thanks to Mona’s niece, Debbie and her hus­band, Foster Stewart who were stead­fast in attending to Mona during her fi­nal days; also a special thanks to the nurses and staff on Purdy Lane for their care and attention - especially Larry Hoddinott whose bond with her was a great comfort.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5 from 1-2 p.m. followed immediately by the funeral service at 2 p.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Wil­low St., with Rev. John Tonks officiat­ing. Interment in Old Barns Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson Society of Canada, Maritime Region.
