She was born on December 13, 1934 to the late Buster and Aldie Anders McSwain. She had been a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Burgess is survived by three sons, Ronnie Burgess (Vanessa), Donnie Burgess, and Randy Burgess all of Spartanburg; five daughters, Connie Smith of Chesnee, Chris Stacey (Wayne) of Inman, Debra Absher of Spartanburg, Frieda Walker of Spartanburg, and Cathy Burgess of Inman; two sisters, Shirley Laws of Inman, and Zenith Ann Davidson of North Carolina; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Kim McSwain of Spartanburg.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 2:00 until 3:00 at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Paul Smith and Rev. Preston Edmonds to officiate. Graveside service and entombment will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Graham Chapel Wesleyan Church, 235 Graham Chapel Road, Cowpens, SC 29330 or to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC. 29303.
