Mrs, Carroll Is Taken By Death At Kings Creek
Blacksburg, Nov. 29 Mrs. Abilene McSwain Carroll, 77, widow of J. G. Carroll, died Friday morning at her home on Kings Creek, route 1.
Mrs. Carroll, who had been a lesident of the community all of her life, was a member of the Grover Baptist church for more than 40 years.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Antioch Baptist church by the Rev. W. A. Hoffman, of Grover, the Rev. V. C. Ladd and the Rev. C. P. Cobb. Interment was in the Antioch cemetery with the Gordon - Mabry Funeral Home, morticians, in charge.
Grandsons served as pallbearers. Mrs. Carroll is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Susan Falls, of Kings Creek, Mrs. Mary Pruitt, of Grover, and Mrs. Zenia Morrow, of Cherokee Falls; nine sons, William M. Carroll, of Clover, I. H., C. B., and Woodrow J. Carroll, of Kings Creek, V. F. Carroll, of Union Mills, N. C., L. H. Carroll, of Mooresboro, N. C, H. J. Carroll, of Grover, and F. O. and M. C. Carroll, of Kings Mountain, N. C: four brothers, Oliver McSwain, of Cherryville, N. C, Hugh McSwain, of Shelby, N. C, Louis McSwain, of Clover, and G. P. McSwain, of Kings Creek; 45 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
