Geraldine Butler

Geraldine McSwain Butler, 74, of 2052 Love Springs Road, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of Johnny Lee Butler and daughter of the late Janie McSwain Barnhill and James R. Barnhill. She was retired from textiles and was a former greeter at Wal- Mart. Mrs. Butler was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Lou Ann Parker and husband, Eddie Dean, of Pacolet and Janet Visco and husband, Kevin, of Cincinnati, Ohio; five grandchildren, Kelly Reynolds, Jonathan Reynolds and fiancé, Tonya Erwin, Joey Visco, Adam Visco and Kendall Visco; three great-grandchildren, Luke Erwin, Jake Reynolds and Abby Reynolds; and four sisterin laws, Beth McSwain, Ora Mae Byrd and husband, Homer, Bernise McCraw and husband, Manuel, and Mildred Thomas and husband, Larry, all of Gaffney.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by a brother, Dean McSwain.

The family will receive friends Monday, Aug. 10, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.

Services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 2 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Craig and Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
