PALMYRA - Anna T. (Ann) Meade, 94, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra.
She was born on March 4, 1913, in Carrolton, Ill., the daughter of John Goeddey and Catherine (Bruns) Goeddey. She married Roland J. Meade on May 30, 1935, in Carrollton. He preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1992.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Weaver and husband, Tom, of Jefferson City, and Kay Thorpe and husband, Bob, of Hannibal; four sons, Thomas P. Meade and wife, Karen, of Palmyra, Jon M. Meade and wife, Judy, and Daniel J. Meade and wife, Sandy, of Quincy, Ill, and Robert J. Meade and wife, Joyce, of Springfield, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Joe Goeddey.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Goeddey and George Goeddey; and three sisters, Mary Schnelt, Frances Whitlock and Helena Goeddey.
Mrs. Meade was a registered nurse. She had been active in McCooey School PTA, Girl Scouts and the St. Elizabeth's Hospital Auxiliary when she lived in Hannibal. After she and her husband moved to Palmyra in 1970, she was a member of Church Women United and the Sunshine Ladies at Maple Lawn. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
She has donated her body to the St. Louis University School of Medicine.
A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palmyra. Father Christopher Smith will officiate.
Since Ann Mead donated her body to the St. Louis University Medical School, there will be no visitation. The family will meet with friends after the memorial service at the Monsignor Farishon Hall, which is across the street from St. Joseph Church.
Lewis Brothers Funeral Home in Palmyra is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church music fund or to the Palmyra Bicentennial Public Library.

Saint Louis University and its students gratefully acknowledge the charity of those buried here, who gave their remains for the advancement of medical science.
Gravesite Details
Anna T. Meade donated her body for medical research at Saint Louis University. After research was completed, cremated remains were comingled in a plot in the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery (old), in Saint Louis
