Sophie Mella Calvert, of Summerville, the wife of James Calvert, departed this life November 1, 2009.
Born August 26, 1936 in Athens, (Piraeus) Greece, she was the daughter of the late Anastasios Mella and Chryssa Mecropolis Mella.
Sophie enjoyed painting portraits and playing the piano. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her granddaughter, Chrysa.
She was a member of Greek Orthodox Church of Holy Trinity in Charleston.
Sophie is survived by her husband of 45 years, James; a son: Willie Calvert of Columbia and granddaughter, Chrysa Calvert.
Interment was in Live Oak Cemetery,
