Long-Time S.J. Resident Marie Lema Dies at 77
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. for Mrs. Marie Lema, 77, a native of Watsonville and resident here 57 years.
Mrs. Lema died Sunday in a San Jose hospital after a lengthy illness. She made her home with her son Anthony Lema, at 888 Monterey Rd., Morgan Hill. She was the mother of Mrs. Irene Lucero, Mrs. Lorraine Mendoza, Mrs. Charlotte Mitchell, Mrs. Marjorie Tajara, Mrs. Alma Estrada, Mrs. Cary Aiello, Mrs. Dorothy Torres, Mrs. Rose Flores, Mrs. Eva Navarro, Victor F., Clarence, Jess, Manuel and John Lema, all of San Jose. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held from the Mission Chapel of Rancadore & Alameda, thence to holy Family Church for a Requiem Mass at 9 a.m. Interment will follow in Santa Clara Catholic Cemetery. Rosary will be recited tonight at 8 o'clock in the funeral home.
Note: Marie's son, Anthony, is buried in the same plot as she. Her headstone was removed in order to place Anthony's military headstone. (per Marie's grandson, Jess - 2013)
