MaryAnn Brugger, age 89 of Faribault died on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Saint Therese Nursing Home, New Hope.

Services will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Dennis R. Tamke, pastor of Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church, Faribault, officiating. Interment will be at the Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Monday for one hour prior to the service.

MaryAnn, the daughter of Edgar and Stella Mentz was born on July 20, 1923 in Faribault. She graduated from Faribault High School and Mpls. Beauty School. She married Herbert D. Brugger, Jr. on August 9, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Faribault. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2001. During WWII, MaryAnn worked to support war movement by working in factories in California. Later, she was employed by Nutting Truck and Caster Company and McKinley School, both in Faribault.

MaryAnn loved to garden, listen to all kinds of music, cook, read, go to concerts with her children, collected numerous historical items, loved to dress up and wear fancy hats to church, Herb and MaryAnn enjoyed being involved with the Nature Trail Organization in Faribault, MaryAnn was asked by her cousin Lorraine Mentz to be in two Sweet Adeline Shows (as Clarabelle the Clown and Minnie Pearl) with her daughter in the chorus, loved to swim at the YMCA with Herb, involved with numerous things at church, and many, many other activities.

She is survived by her son, Rand Brugger of Bloomington; one daughter, Holly Brugger of Woodbury; one grandson, Ryan Brugger of Bellingham, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents Stella and Edgar Mentz; her husband Herb Brugger, Jr;

She has one sister, Helen Miller, who lives in North Carolina with her daughter, Jan Tabor and family, and one daughter, Laurel Walsh, who lives in Tennessee with her family.
