Dorothy M. “Dottie” Brigner, age 78, of Portsmouth, Ohio, formerly of Beaver, Ohio, died Sunday September 21, 2014 at the Hillview Retirement Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born January 30, 1936 in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of the late Walter E. and Evelyn Ruby Holmes Mershon. Mrs. Brigner was united in marriage June 29, 1956 to her husband, Robert P. Brigner, who preceded her in death March 11, 1997. Surviving are four daughters, one son,, nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two sisters. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Mershon Jr. and Tim Mershon.

Mrs. Brigner attended the Grace Baptist Church in Minford, Ohio, was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was a member of the Beaver VFW.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday September 25, 2014 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio with Rob McKinney and Chaplain Pete Michaels officiating. Burial will follow in Germany Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8:00 P.M. Wednesday September 24, 2014 at the funeral home.
