Services were Nov. 22, 1999 for Betty Jane Fiddelke, 71, of rural Granville, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown. The Rev. Steven Hayden officiated with burial in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Germantown under the direction of Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home in Paullina. Mrs. Fiddelke died Nov. 19 at the Orange City Hospital in Orange City.

Mrs. Fiddelke was born Oct. 17, 1928, in Cherokee County, the daughter of John and Ella (Tesch) Mesner Jr. She was baptized Nov. 11, 1928, and confirmed April 8, 1943. She attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown.

She married Leonard Fiddelke June 16, 1946, at St. John's Lutheran Church. The couple farmed in the Germantown area for many years. After their retirement, the couple remained on an acreage near Germantown.

She was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters and their husbands, Jeanette and John Lenz of Chicago, and Jean and Glenn Norris of Cherokee; two sons and their wives, Les and Sheryl Fiddelke of Paullina and Loren and Helen Fiddelke of Holstein; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother and his wife, Ronald and Mary Mes-ner of Slayton, Minn.; and other relatives.
