Norma Lou Metcalfe Ball Ballard, 88, of Culvertown, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015. She was a Catholic by faith. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a member of the Culvertown Senior Citizens. She was a retired employee of Jim Beam Distillery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ballard and Leona “Tootsie” Metcalfe; her first husband, William F. Ball Jr.; her second husband, Pete Ballard; one brother, Joseph Thurman Metcalfe; one son, James Donald Ball; one grandson Jeff Cecil; one stepson, Alan Ballard; and one stepdaughter, Joyce Blanton.

She is survived by two daughters, Brenda (Steve) Cecil and Jan (Kurtis) Ballard; one stepdaughter, JeanAnn (Alan) Toschlog; one stepson, Jim (Sherrie) Ballard; one sister Verna (Billy) Greenwell; two brothers, Harold (Edna Rose) Metcalfe and Kenneth (Janice) Metcalfe; two granddaughters, Pam (Ed) Smith and Jessica (Kevin) Saxe; two grandsons, Dustin Ballard and Kevin Ballard; and four great-grandsons, Josh Cecil, Jeffery Cecil, Austin Smith and Charlie Saxe.

The funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Culvertown with the Rev. Troy Overton officiating. Burial is in the St. Thomas Church Cemetery in Bardstown.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, and 8-9:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2 at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven. A prayers service is 6 p.m. Sunday with Deacon Arnold Downs officiating.
