Died, at the home of daughter, Mrs C. T. Wall, on April 8, Anna Maria, widow of Dr A. E. Metcalfe, the daughter of Erastus and Hannah Jackson Belknap, aged 91 years. Mrs. Metcalfe was born in Otsego County, near Cooperstown, of Revolutionary stock, her grandfather, Abel Belknap, having been an officer in the war for independence. His son, Erastus, was born in Otsego county, but spent the closing years of his life at Campville where his son, J. J. Belknap, and daughter, Miss Permelia Belknap, now live. Until the growing infirmities of age incapacitated her. Mrs. Metcalfe was a most energetic worker for the church to which she was devoted, as well as in the numerous local charities of Owego, where she spent more than forty years of her life. Besides the brother and sister, Mrs. Metcalfe is survived by three grand and four great-grandchildren. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at the house of Mrs. Wall, the Rev. R. A. Vose conducting the services. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.--Owego Times."
