She graduated from high school at the age of 15 and earned her teaching certificate at Peru State Teachers' College and the University of Omaha.
She moved to Seattle in 1947 and married WWII veteran Samuel Hoseit. They celebrated their 61st anniversary a month befor Sam died in 2008. They were members of Lake City Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years. Doris volunteered at Help Line and was a member of the U.S. Daughters of 1812.
She is survived by her daughter Margaret (Kent) Questad and son Carl (Lynn) Hoseit, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held at Lake City Presbyterian Church on Saturday, July 17 at 10:00 a.m.
