Albert A Miller, 83, went on to be with the Lord September 3, 2012.

He was born January 14, 1929 in Selfridge, North Dakota, the first of 10 children born to Rudolph and Freda Miller. In 1935 the family moved to Meridian, ID, where he was raised and attended school.

He joined the Air Force in 1950 and, after his tour of duty in Fairbanks, AK, he was stationed at Tinker AFB near Oklahoma City, OK, where he met Emma Jean Horn. They were married on June 17, 1953.

After his discharge, he worked in Oklahoma City and attended the Bethany Nazarene College. In 1957, they moved back to the Boise area where he was a local truck driver for P.I.E. and Garrett Freight Lines, where he retired in 1984.

In 1985, Albert and Emma Jean moved to the log home he built near Cascade Lake at Donnelly, ID.

Music was a big part of the Miller family life. Albert was the Music Director at Calvary Baptist Church in the late 60's and early 70's. After his retirement, he continued his love of music by playing his guitar. He and Emma Jean sang duets with the Desert Country Musicians during the winter months they spent in Casa Grande, AZ, performing with the group for 14 years at the RV Parks and nursing homes in the area.

Albert had a great love and respect for the magnificent mountains, lakes, rivers, and streams of Idaho. He loved to snow ski, ride snowmobiles, boat, fish, and hunt the big game. When they could no longer travel, they came back "home" to the Boise area in 2007.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Walter; two infant sisters, Doris and Katrina; and his beloved granddaughter, Angela Michelle Eggers.

Albert is survived by his wife, Emma Jean; daughter, Carla (Chris) Lowe, of Nampa; son, David, of Emmett; two granddaughters: Jenilee Miller, of Albuquerque, NM, and Autumn (Ben) Haney, of Greeley, CO; brothers: Wesley (Joan) Miller, Harvey (LaDean) Miller and Don (Bona) Miller; sisters: Anna (Bob) Catmull, Emma Jane (Duane) Deno and Loreen (Jack) Parkin, all from Boise and Rupert; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are planned for Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 11:00 am, at Cloverdale Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your favorite charity.
