Anne Miller Avirett, 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 4, 2016. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Northminster Presbyterian Church. Burial will be private in Riverside Cemetery. Rev. Susan Alley will officiate. The family will greet friends from 5 until 7 PM Wednesday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street and asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church, 565 Wimbish Road, Macon 31210 or Daybreak, 174 Walnut Street, Macon 31201.
Mrs. Avirett was born in Macon the daughter of the late Elizabeth Johnstone Miller and Boyce Miller. She was the widow of William Henry Avirett, Sr. and was preceded in death by her son, William Henry Avirett, Jr., brothers, Walter T. Miller and Boyce Miller, sisters, Cecilia Coleman, Elizabeth Lancaster, Doris James, and Eugenia Hansen.
Mrs. Avirett was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church. She attended Mercer University where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. Mrs. Avirett enjoyed fishing and looking for bargains at yard sales.
