Muriel Yvonne Billingsley, an 82-year-old resident of Burley, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at Parke View Care & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Aug. 12, 1925, in Tower City, N.D., the daughter of Albert Lee and Josephine Dugan Miller.

She enjoyed 40 years of marriage to James O. Billingsley Jr. before his death in 1978. During their marriage, they lived in California before moving to Burley. The birth of their twin boys, Terry and Gary, was her greatest joy.

Muriel worked for the Cassia County School District for more than 28 years, serving as a school cook at the Miller School, Mountain View Elementary and Burley Junior High School.

She enjoyed great health before becoming sick at the age of 72. She enjoyed numerous good times with her friends, playing cards, shopping, dressing up for Halloween and visiting while drinking a cup of "Joe." She was an awesome, active grandmother and spent a lot of time with her granddaughters, Tammy and Cara, and will be greatly missed by them.

She is survived by her twin sons, Terry Billingsley of Burley and Gary (Darlynn) Billingsley of Visalia, Calif.; four grandchildren, Tammy, Cara, James and Grant; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters and her husband.
