Lillie Irene Anderson, of Camas, WA, passed away on May 15, 2011 in Clackamas, OR, at the age of 77. She was born on Aug. 15, 1933 in Macks Creek, MO. She moved to Washington when she was around five years old and graduated from Washougal High School in 1952. She was active in school as a yell leader and in drama, as well as a member of the drum and bugle corps.

Irene married her high school sweetheart, Alan Anderson, on June 8, 1952.

She worked several different jobs: she was a telephone operator back when she had to physically connect the lines, she worked as a car hop, bookkeeper, and waitressed at both the Parker House and Neder's Café.

Irene attended the Lutheran Church and loved computer games, crosswords and crafts. She was an avid reader and never forgot anybody's birthday. She was also a part of the breakfast club at Smitty's and Hometown Buffet.

Irene is survived by her husband, Alan, at home; daughters, Diane Anderson of Stevenson, WA, Carol (Wayne) McCullough of Washougal, WA and Ann (Will) Harryman of Stevenson, WA; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Alan, Jr., in 1988; as well as two brothers; and her parents, James and Eva Miller.

Her life was celebrated during a funeral service at Straub's Funeral Home on Thursday, May 19, 2011. Burial followed at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery.
