He was the son of John and Jennie Nackley Mody.
In 1943, in South Carolina, he was married to Pasqualina (Patty) Sanzone.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the army in China, Burma and India.
Besides his wife, and mother he leaves four sons: John Mody of Rome and Richard Mody of Frankfort, David and Joseph Mody both of Utica, and a sister, Mrs. Frank (Nettie) Koury, of Utica, and a brother Joseph Mody of Utica.
