MARION ROSE MONACO-DiMARTINO, 71 of Manahawkin, STAFFORD, formerly of Clark, died Monday at her home. Born in Newark to the late Vito Monaco and Eleanor Hayden Monaco, she lived in Clark for over 30 years before moving to Manahawkin six years ago. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Parish, Barnegat; and a member of Ocean Acres Civil Association; the Clark and Manahawkin VFW, and the Italian American Cultural Society of Ocean County. She was also an active member of the Clark Democratic Club.


She was predeceased by a sister, Christine Monaco-Serio. Surviving are her husband, Joseph DiMartino, Sr.; her children, Eleanor Bresciano and her husband Mark of Bound Brook, Thomas Higgins of Toms River, Diane Starr and her husband Gary of Rahway, Joseph DiMartino Jr. and his wife Nancy of Cranford, Michael DiMartino and his wife Peggie of Ringoes, and Marion Johnston and her husband Michael of Winfield; a sister, Eleanor "Cookie" Suskevich of Barnegat; a brother, Benedict Monaco; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Hooper Avenue, Toms River. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
