Dora M. BROWN


Dora Monaco Brown Age 69, formerly of Wilmington, died Tuesday October 12, 1999 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN after a short illness.

Mrs. Brown was a Career Counselor with the Vanderbilt Psychological and Counseling Center. She was President of the Cumberland Museum Guild and the 1999 Volunteer of the Year for the Inter-Museum Counsel of Nashville. She volunteered at Scarrit College and the Tennessee State Museum Archives. She was a graduate of the University of Delaware class of 1951 where she received her BA degree. Mrs. Brown also was a graduate of Vanderbilt University where she earned her Masters degree in Psychology.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Morris J. Brown, Jr. who died in 1984. She is survived by a daughter, Debra Brown Steinberg and her husband, Mosha of New York, NY; a son, Morris J. Brown, III and his wife Kathy and her grandson, Morris Cullen Brown of Nashville, TN; brothers, Anthony Monaco, Jr., Jack Monaco and Donald Monaco, all of Wilmington, DE, Albert Monaco of Hollywood, FL, Judge David Monaco of Ormond Beach, FL; sisters, Ascenza DiMattio of Hollywood, FL and Jan Szostak of Philadelphia, PA.

Graveside services were held on Friday October 15, 1999 at Temple Cemetery in Nashville, TN.
