"Mrs. Socorro Montano of Douglas passed away Friday, November 16, 2001 at the University Medical Center in Tucson.

Mrs. Montano was born May 16, 1924 in Douglas, Arizona where she attended Loretto Academy. She had been employed at the Western Auto Supply, J.C. Penney and was also an Avon representative.

Mrs. Montano was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Church Choir, Eucharistic Minister and the Prayer Group. She taught Catechism for 16 years. She was always very involved in her children's activities.

She was preceded in death by her sister Maria Jesus Quesada and her brother, Eddie Calderon.

Surviving is her husband, Jose Montano of Douglas; children Gloria Lopez of Palmdale, Ca., Richard Montano of Rialto, Ca, Ray Montano of Mesa, AZ and Arthur and Steven Montano of Tucson, AZ; sister Elvira Montano and brother, Ben Calderon of Colton, Ca.

Also surviving are her grandchildren, Joseph Lopez, Vincent Lopez, Anthony Montano, Jason Montano, Christopher Montano, Steven Montano, Candice Montano, Cynthia Parkhurst, Robert Montano, Stephanie Montano, Elizabeth Montano, Brooke Montano and Brittany Montano.; two great-grandchildren Kemani Montano and Gia Montano.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001 at Immaculate Conception church. A funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2001 also at Immaculate Conception Church with Father Antonio Ruiz officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers who will serve are Joseph Lopez, Vincent Lopez, Antony Montano, Jason Montano, Christopher Montano and Robert Montano.

Honorary pallbearers are Steven Montano, Stephanie Montano, Brooke Montano, Brittany Montano, Kemani Montano, Gia Montano, Cynthia Parkhurst and Candice Montano."
